Richard P. Weishaupt is a Senior Attorney for Health and Human Services at Community Legal Services of Philadelphia, where he has worked for more than 40 years. He specializes in public benefits, health law and Social Security has written extensively in the field. He has litigated more than 60 cases mostly class actions and has argued successfully in the US Supreme Court, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, among others. Mr. Weishaupt has designed and taught substantive law and legal skills programs for lawyers, paralegals, and lay people. These include programs for: Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations, Legal Services Corporation, National Health Law Project, Children’s Defense Fund, National Legal Aid and Defender Association, the National Organization of Social Security Representatives and various City agencies and numerous colleges and law schools in the area. He has also testified before the the US Congress, Pennsylvania Legislature and the Philadelphia City Council. Mr. Weishaupt earned his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. He graduated from Fordham University with a B.A. in Economics, Suma cum laude.
