Joanne Werdel is the Supervising Attorney of the Consumer Housing Unit at Philadelphia Legal Assistance, where she leads a team of advocates representing homeowners in mortgage and tax foreclosure cases, tangled title cases, and in chapter 13 bankruptcies. Prior to joining PLA in 2013, she served as litigation counsel for the Center for Responsible Lending in Washington, DC, where she co-counseled with legal services programs on predatory lending and reverse redlining cases. Joanne is a 2005 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School and a 1997 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
