Dan Dwyer is an attorney in the Division of Financial Practices at the Federal Trade Commission. He works on a variety of consumer credit and financial services issues, including debt collection, credit repair, debt relief, mortgage advertising, and automobile sales and financing. Mr. Dwyer was a primary contributor to the FTC report The Structure and Practices of the Debt Buying Industry (2013). He is currently litigating several debt collection matters and speaks frequently on consumer protection issues in debt collection. He also regularly provides subject-matter assistance in the debt collection area on behalf of the agency.
