Berbeth Foster is the Lead Consumer Rights Attorney in the Senior Citizen Law Project of Coast to Coast Legal Aid of South Florida. She has been with the program since July 2010.  Berbeth litigates consumer rights issues on behalf of the senior population in Broward County, Florida. She spends a considerable portion of her time litigating mortgage foreclosure actions, and as of late, litigating reverse mortgage foreclosures almost exclusively. She further specializes in debt collection related to condominium fees, credit card debt, auto deficiency collection and others. Finally, she handles matters related to fraud and practices Chapter 13 bankruptcy. In the last five years, Berbeth has assisted her clients in obtaining over half a million dollars in debt relief. Most recently, Berbeth, along with private co-counsel, received $39,000 in attorney’s fees for representing a surviving spouse in a reverse mortgage foreclosure case. Berbeth regularly conducts community outreach to familiarize the community with the services provided by the Senior Law Project.  

Berbeth graduated from the University of Miami School of Law. While at the University of Miami, Berbeth was a Dean’s Honor Scholar and Bill Colson Scholarship recipient. Shortly after graduation, she was awarded a University of Miami Foreclosure Defense fellowship to work at Legal Aid Services of Broward County. That fellowship opportunity at Legal Aid Service of Broward County led to a job offer from Coast to Coast Legal Aid. Berbeth is a member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, Broward County Bar Association, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
