Description

The COVID-19 pandemic left low-income customers with record-breaking amounts of utility debt. Federal assistance and a range of state responses offer much-needed support, but the path to receiving assistance may be confusing. In this session, advocates will learn how to help clients gain access to bill payment assistance and other programs. We will also address the overpriced competitive energy supply contracts that ensnare consumers in deregulated states, and successful litigation and advocacy strategies.
