Description

Data from reverse mortgage servicers reveals that over 27K borrowers are in default on property charges, with half of those defaults occurring during the pandemic. Guidance with respect to loss mitigation and other home saving measures for borrowers and non-borrowing surviving spouses has changed rapidly over the past year. This session will focus on strategies and options for keeping older borrowers and spouses at home after the moratorium is lifted. The session will also highlight the challenges heirs face in keeping the home after the death of the borrower.
