C9: Impact Litigation for Legal Services Attorneys (Video)

This course will focus on how legal services attorneys can pursue impact litigation on behalf of consumers. Topics that will be covered include: choosing which issues to litigate; when to file pre-suit demand letters; when to file an individual case versus a class action; how and whether to get private or pro bono co-counsel; how to navigate the tension between benefits of a settlement to the individual client versus other consumers affected; mootness issues; and how to negotiate and apply for attorneys' fees.
