B3: Outside and Alongside the FCRA: Bringing State Law Claims Against "Not CRAs" (Video)

Issued:

Date
2021

Description

Often, entities collecting and reselling data on consumers try to argue they are not covered by the FCRA. The flip side of that argument is that these actors should not get the protection of FCRA preemption (or qualified immunity) from potential state law causes of action. In this session, we'll explore uses of state law statutory and tort claims against companies that claim to be outside of the FCRA's scope.
