Nicole Cabañez is a Skadden Fellow at the National Consumer Law Center (NCLC). Her work focuses on improving market access for consumers with limited English proficiency across various aspects of consumer financial law, including mortgage servicing, debt collection, and credit reporting. She also specializes in the intersection between consumer finance and immigrant justice issues, including remittances, consumer reporting for individuals with individual tax ID numbers (“ITINs”), and access to banking issues for new arrivals.
Before joining NCLC, she worked as an intern in the Enforcement division of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
