Mark Budnitz, contributing author, is a professor of law emeritus at Georgia State University College of Law. He was an attorney at Community Legal Assistance Office (Cambridge, MA) and Greater Boston Legal Services, and was NCLC’s executive director. He also was a branch chief at the Securities and Exchange Commission. His publications include the four prior editions of this volume, The Law of Lender Liability, Counseling and Representing Financially Distressed Businesses, and numerous law review articles on consumer payment systems. He is on the Advisory Committee of Atlanta Legal Aid Society and NCLC’s Board of Directors, and is a member of the American Law Institute.
