Ms. Matlock has been practicing tax law more than 15 years. She represents the firm's federal tax clients at the administrative appeals level, in United States Tax Court, and the United States District Courts. She is licensed to practice in the United States Tax Court and the United States District Courts for the Western and Southern Districts of Texas. Ms. Matlock is a member of the State Bar of Texas Tax Section and the American Bar Association Section of Taxation. She is an editor of Effectively Representing Your Client Before the IRS. Ms. Matlock frequently presents at national conferences on taxation, including for the American Bar Association, the National Employment Law Center, the Internal Revenue Service, and various legal services organizations across the nation. She has co-authored comments to proposed Treasury regulations and draft Internal Revenue Service forms, and has testified on behalf of the State Bar of Texas Tax Section in Washington DC before the United States Department of the Treasury in connection with proposed regulations. Ms. Matlock earned her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Houston. She earned her J.D. in 2000 from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, Texas, where she served on the editorial board of the Texas International Law Journal.
