Ellen Noble is a staff attorney at Public Justice’s Washington, D.C. headquarters. She litigates high-impact public interest cases at the trial and appellate court levels concerning access to courts, court secrecy, consumer protection, workers’ rights, civil rights, and gender-based violence. Ellen has authored appellate briefs and dispositive motions in state and federal courts across the country. She is also a recipient of the 2020 Pound Institute’s Appellate Advocacy Award as a member of the litigation team in Home Depot USA v. Jackson, 139 S. Ct. 1743 (2019). Previously, Ellen served as the Seneca Falls Fellow at Public Justice. She also clerked for Judge Albert Diaz on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and Judge John D. Bates on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. Ellen graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center where she served as the Senior Articles Editor of the Georgetown Law Journal and received the Trial Lawyers Award for best advocate in Georgetown’s Appellate Courts Immersion Clinic. She also earned a Masters in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and a B.A. from Macalester College. She is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.
