Nilda Rodriguez Havrilla

Nilda Rodriguez Havrilla is a graduate of Trinity College (2000) and Northeastern University School of Law (2003).  She is admitted to practice law in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and the United States District Court of Connecticut.  From 2011 to 2019, she was the Managing Attorney of the Housing Unit at Connecticut Legal Services, Inc. (CLS), a nonprofit private law firm that is dedicated to helping low-income individuals and families obtain justice.  She now serves as the Litigation and Advocacy Director.  In her 18 years of practice at CLS, Attorney Rodriguez Havrilla has handled housing matters before administrative agencies, state court, and federal court, including evictions, illegal lockouts, housing discrimination cases, False Claims Act cases, grievance hearings with public housing authorities and preservation of housing subsidies.  She argued at the Connecticut Appellate Court in 2021 and most recently worked on a class action in Federal Court on behalf of Medicaid recipients who utilize non-emergency medical transportation.  Attorney Rodriguez Havrilla is the Legal Services Committee Member for Connecticut’s Disaster Housing Task Force that was created by the Governor following Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 to address temporary and long term housing needs of Connecticut residents.  She is a Fellow of the Connecticut Bar Foundation James W. Cooper Fellows Program and a former board member of the Connecticut Fair Housing Center and the Friendship Service Center.
