Matthew is a Supervising Attorney and the Program Manager of CAMBA Legal Services’ Consumer Law Project.
The Consumer Law Project provides direct representation to low income New Yorkers in a wide range of consumer matters, including auto fraud, unfair debt collection, debt defense, unfair lending, and checking and credit card fraud. The Consumer Law Project also works with special populations, such as domestic violence survivors experiencing economic abuse and tenants experiencing collection abuses by their landlords. In addition to this direct representation, Matthew also oversees the Consumer Law Project’s impact litigation challenging illegal debt collection practices. Some of Matthew’s representative matters include: Fritz v. Resurgent 955 F. Supp. 2d 163 (EDNY 2013), Morales v. Kavulich, 294 F. Supp. 3d 193 (SDNY 2019) and Calixto v. Balsamo Rosenblatt, 19-cv-04675 (EDNY).
Matthew received a J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 2007. He has been the attorney in charge of the Consumer Law Project since its inception in 2008.
