Jarrell is a Senior Attorney at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County (NLSLA) in its Re-Entry Clean Slate Initiatives practice. NLSLA is a non-profit law firm dedicated to providing free legal assistance to people living in poverty in Los Angeles County. Jarrell represents criminal justice system-involved persons with reducing and eliminating the legal barriers they face because of their criminal records. He has extensive experience representing clients in criminal record clearing hearings, employment and housing discrimination disputes, and in other legal matters related to re-entry.
In addition to his direct legal services practice, Jarrell engages in impact/affirmative litigation and policy advocacy to address systemic barriers to reentry. Jarrell also provides community education and technical assistance to community groups, attorneys, legal advocates, and government agencies in Los Angeles County and statewide. Jarrell earned a J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2014 and holds a A.B. from Dartmouth College. He is admitted to the California Bar.
