Susan Stocks

Susan M. Camp Stocks is the Assistant Deputy Enforcement Director for Policy and Strategy at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In that role, Susan advises on priorities for the Office of Enforcement and uses her strong relationships with state and federal law enforcement partners, consumer advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders to identify emerging business trends and their potential risks to consumers. Susan has also worked for several years on the enforcement of consumer reporting law and regulations at consumer reporting agencies and furnisher companies.



Prior to joining the CFPB, Susan was Associate General Counsel at Freddie Mac where she provided fair lending advice to the corporation and led the corporation’s fair lending training program. Susan also provided advice on loss mitigation issues, anti-predatory lending efforts, sustainable credit, and impacts on affordable populations.



Prior to joining Freddie Mac, Susan worked in the Consumer Protection Bureau at the Federal Trade Commission. She began her legal career as an associate at a large litigation law firm.



Before practicing law, Susan was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Nepal, where she taught English in Nepali schools and provided teacher training in villages.
