Nick Gable

Nick Gable is a senior attorney at Disability Rights Michigan, where he litigates systemic and impact cases that protect and further the rights of Michiganders with disabilities. His cases include Waskul et al. v. Washtenaw County Community Mental Health et al., 979 F.3d 426 (6th Cir. 2020), Wiesner v. Washtenaw County Community Mental Health, 340 Mich. App. 572 (2022), and C.B. v. Livingston County Community Mental Health, 2023 WL 8482984, -- Mich. App. -- (2023). His amicus cases include Woodman v. Department of Corrections, 511 Mich. 427 (2023), in which he represented, as primary author, the State Bar of Michigan, every legal aid organization in Michigan, the Michigan State Planning Body, and Disability Rights Michigan in an amicus brief that helped secure a landmark ruling concerning pro bono attorney fees. He represents the Sixth Circuit in the National Disability Rights Network’s Legal Strategies Workgroup. That workgroup, among other things, advises NDRN on matters of national strategy and amicus participation throughout the country.
