Joseph Sant

Joseph Sant is Deputy General Counsel at the Center for New York City Neighborhoods, a non-profit organization that promotes and protects affordable homeownership. Since 2013, he has helped design, build, and implement large-scale coastal recovery and resiliency programs, including legal assistance programs that have helped over 5,000 working and middle-class homeowners in New York City rebuild their homes and finances in the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy. He also oversees initiatives designed to help coastal homeowners cope with the destabilizing effects of climate change and rising flood risk. Previously, Joseph was a Senior Attorney at Legal Services NYC, where he brought affirmative impact litigation to combat predatory mortgage lending and enforce consumer protections for low- and moderate-income homeowners. Joseph earned his B.A. at the University of Washington and his J.D. at Georgetown University.
