Douglas L. Stevick

Douglas L. Stevick is a general counsel at Texas RioGrande Legal Aid (TRLA), where he has represented migrant farmworkers and other low-wage workers for more than two decades in employment and civil rights litigation in federal and state court and in systemic administrative advocacy. He founded TRLA’s Southern Migrant Legal Services office in Nashville, Tennessee, which he ran for ten years. For two years, he was co-director of litigation at Legal Aid of North West Texas. He was an Abraham Fuchsberg Fellow at Public Citizen Litigation Group and a Yale Law School Arthur Liman Fellow at TRLA. He has also worked for plaintiff-side employment and civil rights law firms. Doug was a Wasserstein Fellow at Harvard Law School in 2006, and in 2010 he won the Ashley Wilshire Public Service Attorney of the Year Award from the Tennessee Bar Association. He clerked for a federal district court judge in Laredo, Texas. Doug is a graduate of Yale Law School, and he has bachelor’s degrees from Georgetown University and the University of Oxford.
