1.1.1 All Subscribers Have Access to the Digital Version
Federal Deception Law is available in both a print and digital version. Even those subscribing to the print edition have access to the digital version at www.nclc.org/library. For log-in questions, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or at 617-542-9595.
Print revisions are released every few years. The digital version is updated more frequently, as developments require, with all changes integrated into the text. The digital version also contains additional pleadings and primary source material, described at § 1.4.3, infra.
Clicking on “Highlight Updates” in the digital version at the top of screen highlights online additions since release of the print book to the particular treatise section displayed on the screen. This “Highlight Updates” option also shows, in curly brackets at the beginning of each digital footnote, the corresponding footnote number in the print book. Very recent updates and important law changes can be pinpointed rapidly by clicking the blue and red flags, respectively, in the digital table of contents.
The digital version offers several options to search the content of the chapters, appendices, sample pleadings in Word format, and/or supplemental primary sources. The digital version also provides easy navigation between subsections and contains active links to external websites and other sections in the book and other NCLC treatises. Material in the digital version can be copied and pasted, downloaded, printed, or e-mailed.
Individual users, for their own use, can create annotations to the digital text or while highlighting selected digital passages. To do this, users can select the desired text, click on the annotation icon that appears, then type and save the annotation or, to simply highlight the text passage, save the annotation without typing. Rapidly return to annotated or highlighted text by clicking on “My Annotations/Highlighting” in the left pane of the relevant treatise. Users can also edit their existing annotations.
Subscription options are available as either digital-only or print + digital. Print + digital subscriptions include, as part of the subscription price and at no additional charge, any revised print edition that is released during the subscription period. For more information, go to www.nclc.org/bookstore.
Additional user names can be purchased for a minimal cost, allowing those additional users to receive their own e-mails about important new developments, to create their own annotations, to highlight and bookmark, and to personalize their digital experience by allowing a rapid return to recently viewed pages.
